Palli Mela is a famous fair held on the day of Asso Sud Nom (9) at the temple of Vardayini Mata in Rupal village of Gandhinagar district in the state of Gujarat. Devotees of Goddess Vardayini’s mother take out a procession on that day with the palanquin of the mother.

Palli Mela is held every year on the day of Aasu Sud Nom during Navratri in Rupal village, located 13 kilometers from Gandhinagar, the capital of The State of Gujarat.
History :-
For the temple of Varadayini Mata, it is said that she is present here in the second of the nine forms of Navadurga in the form of a very charini hanswahi. When Rama went to the forest in tretayuga, varadayini’s mother was pleased with the order of shringa rishi and gave Rama an amogh divine arrow, which was used by Rama in the last battle of Ramayana. After completing the exile, he won the battle with the blessings of Mataji. Then on the 9th day of Aso Sud, along with Krishna, Pandavas and Draupadi, he made a golden palli of Mataji, installed five kunds on it, took out a palli yatra in the village, performed panchabali yajna.
Religious Significance :-
Pure ghee is made to please varadayi’s mother. In which about four lakh kg of ghee is anointed. The specialty of this fair is the long verandah that lifts the goddess’s palanquin. As many as 10 lakh bhavishyas come to Palli every year.
